Graham Whincup Obituary

WHINCUP, Graham Patrick At 63 years, on September 12, 2014, with those he loved at his side. A wonderful caring son, loving brother, nephew and uncle; a gentle giant of a man who moved spiders to safety, but was an obedient servant to his beloved cat, Jasper Marley (alias Bubbas). Graham was a man of integrity, exceptional standards and a fortress of strength for family and friends. He was proud of his career with the Canadian Hydrographic Service and time spent with the Canadian Scottish Pipes & Drums, both of which he approached with dedication. A man of many interests, he was exceptionally knowledgeable particularly where cars and military history were concerned, for these were his true passions. Interment will take place at Royal Oak Burial Park, 4673 Falaise Drive, on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. A Celebration of Graham's Life will be held in McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, Johnson & Vancouver Streets, on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow. Special thanks to the Victoria Fire Department and B.C. Ambulance Service for their quick response and heroic efforts as well as the doctors and nurses in C.C.U. and I.C.U. at the Royal Jubilee Hospital for their exceptional care and attention. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com. Goodbye "Sir" ----see 'ya soon! Always loved, always remembered.

Sad to learn of Graham's passage ...

As youths we spent many enjoyable hours together traversing the inner sanctum of our former academic school days

Graham was always a jovial, caring soul who respected his fellow student's viewpoints and he appreciated humour and intellectual witt.

He imparted the warmth of sunshine as his calling card and his renown gentle demeanour was his trademark of creating loyal friendships amongst his peers.

Our friendly giant will indeed be respectfully missed ...
