Harry Dennis Madden

MADDEN, Harry Dennis
June 21, 1932 - January 11, 2026
It is with sadness that we share the passing of Dennis Madden, a beloved husband, brother, father and dear friend to many. He graduated with a BComm and LLB from Dalhousie University and was admitted to the Bar of Nova Scotia. He later attended The University of Western Ontario to pursue an MBA, and went on to have a prolific and varied career as an international banker. He was with The Inter-American Development Bank in Washington DC, The Bank of Montreal and Royal Trust. He eventually founded three of his own financial consulting firms. For the last thirty years Victoria, BC was home for Dennis and his wife Audrey. Dennis founded the local chapter of PROBUS, where he was the first president and for decades tirelessly organized events and travel for the retired community. He received one of the highest awards from Probus Canada, the Citation Award. As a volunteer, Dennis gave tirelessly. He was Vice-Chairman of the Toronto United Way, President of the Society for International Development (Washington D.C.), Director of the Nature Conservancy of Canada, B.C. Region, and Director of the Victoria Symphony. His passion for knowledge and ability to effect change, has left a lasting legacy in his community. He will be laid to rest in the Madden Family plot in Liverpool, NS. He is survived by his wife Audrey Madden, his sister Joyce Madden, his four daughters Lisa, Michelle, Sonya and Jillian and his two grandsons. (For all communication: michmadden@gmail.com)
