Hazel Simms Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hazel. She peacefully slipped away in the early hours of July 18th at the age of 97 years. She was predeceased in 2008 by Ross, her loving husband of 62 years. Holding her lovingly forever in their hearts are; daughter Florence Raines (Dallas); son Raymond Simms (Carla); daughter Shirley Hoyer; son Phillip Simms (Cindy); grandchildren Christopher, Jenna, Lindsay, Crystal, Miranda, Jordan, Michelle, Kyle, Scott; great grandchildren Julianne, Matthew, Adele, Nicholas, Bennett, Davis, Evelyn and Will.

The family would like to give a very warm thank you to the amazing care workers at Lion's Cove for their loving care of Hazel over the past few years. You are truly angels on earth. Thank you also to Dr. Kier MacMillan for so many years of compassionate care and to the nursing staff of VGH 6N who so gently and kindly eased her final days.

A Memorial Tea will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Drive on Monday, July 27th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hazel's memory may be made to the Victoria SPCA or a charity of your choice.
