Heather Wheeler Obituary

WHEELER, Heather Mary December 7, 1959 to January 10, 2022 This is the most difficult thing I have ever had to write. Heather, my loving, beautiful, inspirational, talented, and exceptionally smart wife, passed away Monday, January 10th, 2022. We were very fortunate to have spent 41 incredible years together travelling the world and building successful businesses. For that I am eternally grateful. Heather's passion was The Avenue Gallery, a business she started all on her own almost 20 years ago. Just a few weeks ago, The Avenue Gallery was recognized as the Times Colonist Readers' Choice Award for Best Art Gallery in Victoria. I am very proud of Heather. In Heather's memory, I and the wonderful gallery staff will continue the tradition of representing some of Canada's most talented artists. Heather leaves behind her husband of 39 years, Larry, brothers John (Gay), Rick (Rosemary), Ron (Pam), her brother-in-law Randy (Nadine), her mother-in-law Pat and many nieces and nephews. Heather is predeceased by her mother Rita and her father Scott. I also wish to thank the first responders for their prompt and respectful response. Thank you for not sending cards or flowers. In lieu, please make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Please give everyone you love a big hug and make the most of every day.

Heather was one of the most beautiful people I have ever met, inside and out. The Avenue Gallery is my favorite and my friends have many pieces of beauty, thanks to Heather's careful eye and guidance. She truly listened.
She shall be missed. I will still go to her gallery. My deepest condolences to her family.
