I am so sorry to know that Ernie has died. He was a client of mine when I was with CIBC in 1981. He and Carol were delightful people. Ernie asked me to play the organ for Carol's memorial service. I enjoyed sharing a beer with Ernie on his sundeck one beautiful sunny afternoon. He was a man who gained much respect. He will be sorely missed by his family, to whom I offer my sincere condolences. I regret I will not be able to attend his memorial as I have a medical appointment which I must keep. God be with you, Ernie.

Ernie was a great mentor and father figure. He was there anytime I needed him. He was a generous soul, always ready to lift one's spirit with his wonderful sense of humor. I was blessed to have had him and Carol in my life, and to have them accompany me on the most important day of my life.

Ernie, will be greatly missed! We will always cherish the beautiful memories we have had with Ernie and Carol, our dear friends. We regret being in Italy and missing your memorial. We would like to extend to the whole family our condolences. May God be in your hearts in this moment of sadness. The only thing that makes us serene is that now he is with the love of his life, the sweet Carol. Love to you all. Simona, Steven, Rosa

We met Ernie through friends and we couldn't help but form a friendship as well. That was the person Ernie was. He always met you with that great smile, had a good story you could have a great laugh about, and had a gleam in his eye when he spoke about his family. Ernie had one of those special hearts that could always turn something good out of something bad. Our hearts feel a sadness for his family for what they have lost, but a happiness for what he has now found peace and love forever

Ernie was a Legendary icon. Every friends son or daughter wanted to work for Thrifty Foods. Mr Skinner gave them their first job. Folks do not forget a man like that.
Always a man you could have good conversation with and always interested in how your life was going.
A very kind and gentle man never to be forgotten. I can just imagine the happiness that he felt when he closed his eyes and seen his beloved Carol waiting for him. Together forever
