I only re-met Hugh in October of 2016 when I went to visit Mitzi's grave with Sharon and Hugh. Our families grew up together and your mom even named two of you the same as my siblings (Sharon and David).

I'm so sorry to hear that the family has lost another so soon after your mom. prayers with you for a short grieving and a long memory of the man he was to everyone who loved him.

Hugh's early Pizza Pieman days

I knew Hughie from Oakbay high school. After graduating we worked together at Pizza Pieman (75-76). We had many common interests like getting together for a few beers, watching Monday night football, getting together for a few beers, and sometimes we'd just get together for a few beers.
I always considered Hughie a good friend so much so I sold him my green 1962 impala convertible. So aside from memories of him race that car up and down oak bay avenue with a big grin (until he broke it!) I will forever remember Hugh as someone totally grounded, friendly, funny, caring and a person I really enjoyed having a few beers with.

Well Hughie my friend, it saddens me to say a final good bye but I know where ever you are now you're no doubt looking down with a cold one in hand and saying ya those were fun times'.

Condolences to family and extended family members on the loss of Hugh.
Although we lost touch over the years I often thought of school-mate Hugh and his eccentric sense of humour.

Hugh was a friend of mine, although we knew each other better back in the mid to late 1970's, we always enjoyed each others company. I have many memories of "HB" We worked at Pieman together and shared quite a few laughs over a beer or two. Last time I saw Hugh was at my book launch, and I wish I had much more time to talk to him. I'll remember you always Hugh, and that laugh you had. Rest in Peace.

Hughie your wit and your crazy sense of humour won't be forgotten by anyone who knew you. You were one of a kind, marched to the beat of your own drum but never said no to lending a helping hand. A huge heart. Going to miss you cuz. Kathryn Blake Wright.
