Ian McKenzie Obituary
McKENZIE, Ian Scott May 15, 1938 - May 31, 2022 It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Ian Scott McKenzie of Brentwood Bay, BC on May 31, 2022. Ian was born on May 15, 1938 and grew up in Lyalta, Alberta, attended school in Strathmore where he became a good Baseball and Hockey Player. Ian was predeceased by his first wife Sharon in 2010. Ian joined RCMP in 1957; after serving for 15 years he went to an exciting and rewarding career in Hockey where he eventually became the Calgary Flames NHL Head ScouT. His prized possession was his Stanley Cup Ring. He scouted hockey players for St. Louis Blues, Atlanta Flames and most notably the Calgary Flames where he spent 25 enjoyable years. After retiring from NHL he moved to Brentwood Bay, BC where he spent many happy years. Ian was an avid cruiser and met his second wife Jane Saldivar McKenzie an officer of Norwegian Cruise Line on a cruise in 2011. Ian re-married in July 2016 in the Phils. Ian will be loved and forever remembered by his second wife Jane, daughter Paige, son David, grandchildren, sisters-in-law Norma, Helen, Thelma, Nena, Aniesaria, brothers-in-law Boy and Jacinto, wonderful friends, Vern, Ike, Rick, Heather, other friends and relatives.
