Isla McGowan Obituary

McGOWAN, Isla Marlene Passed away peacefully March 8, 2015 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital at the age of 79. Isla was born in Lac Vert, Saskatchewan to Ella and Lawrence Senholt. Isla is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Marilyn, Joan and her son Ross, seven grandchildren: Christine, Daniel, Justin, Kala, Connor, Jordyn and Brendan, 2 great granddaughters, Alexandra and Quinn. She was a kind hearted, loving and generous great lady, always giving to others. For those of us who were lucky enough to call her mom, grandma, sister, auntie or friend she will be profoundly missed. May the many gardens she inspired and toiled over continue to bloom in her spirit. There will be a celebration of her life on her 80th birthday, August 30, 2015.

Mom, it has been five months today since your passing.
In my heart, your memory lingers
Always tender, fond and true.
There's not a day, mom
I do not think of you.

Isla was like a surrogate grandma to me, having known her for most of my life. Great sense of humour, cooked a mean sunday roast and always made me smile. Will always have wonderful memories of a wonderful person.

A person of kindness, wisdom & fun. She taught me to knit & always had some new crafts to work on. Loved her dry sense of humour and sense of adventure. Still remember her growing up stories. I was blessed to work with her for a few years. Thanks Isla.
