Jacob KRAHN Obituary

The family of Jacob "Jack" Krahn is deeply saddened to announce his peaceful passing on September 1, 2025, at the age of 86. He is remembered with love by his spouse, Barbara; his children, Michael and Brad (Anna); his brother, Richard; Barb's four children and seven grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Born on December 2, 1938, in a farming community north of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Jack's family soon moved west, settling in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia. After completing his education in Chilliwack, he embarked on a successful career in urban planning in Victoria, B.C. It was there that he met and married Margaret Koller. Together, they raised their family in Oak Bay, where Jack worked for the Municipality of Saanich until his retirement in 1989. Following Marg's passing in 1999, Jack was fortunate to find love again when he met Barb, his spouse of 25 years.

A man of many talents, Jack was the kind of person who could build, fix, or grow anything. He was a gifted handyman and a passionate gardener whose green thumb brought beauty to every space. He also enjoyed winemaking and spending time with his brothers Ed and Richard and friends at their resort at Dee Lake Lodge in the BC Okanagan.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice.

Condolences to Barb, Michael & Brad. Uncle Jack was always a very sweet man & will be missed by many. I remember when I was 5 years old that Uncle Jack built me a children's table & chair set for my birthday. I cherished that table set and had many tea-parties on it. When ever Uncle Jack was with his brothers there was always a fun comradery among them. I was very impressed when at our last family reunion that Uncle Jack had made dill pickles and darned if they didn't taste just like Nanny's did - what great memories we had.
