Jacob de Puit Obituary
August 6, 1934 - July 12, 2025
It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Jack at the age of 90 years. He was a loving father, Opa, brother and friend.
Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife, Johanna, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage before her passing in 2018.
He is survived by his three children, Ray (Tina), Jackie (Guy) and Michele (Barry), along with five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his Holland family, Jan, Ad and F.A.C. Koopman and Jan de Puit.
Born in Kapelle Holland, Jack immigrated to Canada in 1954 to start a new life. He was a hardworking and ambitious man, becoming a millwright and working for BC Forest Products for many years until his retirement. He was a true Jack-of-all-trades who could fix, grow and build anything - including the 31' sailboat (Dutch Treat) he built in the family backyard.
Dad took great joy in providing for his family and growing beautiful flowers for his wife and others to enjoy. He will be forever loved and deeply missed.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, July 16 at Royal Oak Burial Park.
