Jacqueline Maxfield Obituary

MAXFIELD, Jacqueline E.E.
"Just Jackie"

Jackie was born October 27, 1946 and passed away suddenly January 22, 2025. A beloved resident of Genoa Bay for many years and a tireless volunteer for the John Howard Society for forty years, she will be remembered for her compassion, humour and the warmth she brought to the diverse and extensive lives she touched throughout her own. She was deeply grateful for the support of nurses and doctors throughout her health journey. Her continuous life of generosity knit all our lives together with a special love; if you knew her, you were heard and cared for as family. Rarely seen without her knitting bag and a great story to tell, Jackie lived a life of endless strength, boisterous laughter and pointed wisdom she happily shared. Those of us who knew her, will never forget her energy, kindness or wicked smile.

She is now reunited with sons Jason, Arlon and Theron and husband Ed. She is survived by beloved granddaughters Cheyenne Short (Zack) and Chelsea Short (Jonah), great-granddaughters Kairi and Lorelai, sisters Roberta Birkett (Roy) and Janis Livingston (Stanley). She will be remembered warmly by her nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and the vast multitude of friends she loved like family.

Jackie's Celebration of Life will be at 11:30 am on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Duncan Eagles Hall, 2965 Boys Rd, Duncan BC, V9L 6W4.

Jackie had said at Theron's memorial that her sons had been too precious to keep. I'm here to add that she too was too precious for this world. May Jackie and her boys enjoy peace and love in the next life. ='-(
