Jacques GAUTHIER Obituary
Following a courageous battle with cancer, Jacques passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 77 years of age. Predeceased by his parents Rene and Maria Gauthier; 2 brothers: Maurice and Remi; two sisters Madeline Gaudreault and Irene Gaudreault and grandson Jamie Shoemaker.
Jacques is survived by his wife Angela; children: Paulette Saulnier (Paul), Bob (Sandy) and Ron (Kelly); grandchildren: Michael Shoemaker (Erin), Alyssa Gauthier (Dan) and Trevon Gauthier (Rebecca); great grandchildren: Drake and Tanner Shoemaker; sister Theresa Sevigny (Henry) and sister-in-law Laurette Gauthier as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Jacques was long time proprietor of the J&L Drive In and an avid golfer. If he was not at home with his family, he could be found at his second home, Alberni Valley Golf Club.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 11:00am at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, 4731 Burke Rd. Jacques cremated remains will be laid to rest in St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jacques memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, c/o Admin 3030 3rd Ave., Port Alberni, V9Y 2A5.
