BALDWIN, Jane Ann Pearce Born April 1, 1952 in Vancouver and died June 25, 2015 in London, Ontario. Survived by her husband Barrow; daughter, Julia; granddaughter, Emily; brothers, David and Geoffrey, and other family members in Canada, Belgium, and the U.S. Predeceased by her parents, Dr. Michael Pearce and Patricia Pearce. Jane was an accomplished musician at an early age and played the flute with great skill and confidence. She received her B.A. (1973) and M.A. (1975) in Music from the University of Victoria, and her M.L.S. from the University of Toronto (1977), after which she became a cataloguer in the Music Library at the University of Western Ontario, and eventually the Music Reference Librarian, a position that she truly loved and held for a number of years. Awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship, Jane spent a memorable year (1983-4) working in the British Library on eighteenth century music. The next ten years were a time of great joy and fulfillment, highlighted by the birth of her daughter. In 1996 Jane's life was changed with the onset of a malignant brain tumour. She endured a difficult course of treatment and after four years at home she became a resident of Mt. Hope Centre for Long Term Care, where she lived the last fifteen years of her life. Jane's family would like to thank her friends for their devotion, and the staff at Mt. Hope for providing loving care. Condolences may be sent to her family at

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jane's memory may be made to The Mount Hope Fund, with cheques payable to St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation, 550 Wellington Rd., London, Ontario N6C OA7.
