Janet Margaret Jenken

JENKEN, Janet Margaret (nee Scott) Passed away peacefully on December 20th, 2014 in Victoria, BC, at the age of 88. She was born on October 7, 1926 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. She is predeceased by her mother Una Leolin Scott (1951), father Dr. Stanley Scott (1988), husband William Burget Lorne Jenken (1970), infant daughter Anne (1950), her brother Stanley Gordon Scott. She is survived by her sister Ellen (Colin) Willows, her children Donald, Judith MacLean (Doug), Carol (Lorne Verhulst), Daryl (Reta), Evelyn Langille (Tony), Bill (Mariko) and her grandchildren David and Sheila MacLean, Glenys (Jen), Graeme (Jasmine) and Mark Verhulst (Annie), Heather (Craig), Myles and Kevin Jenken. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Dr. Edora for his care of Janet, as well as the staff at Beacon Hill Villa for providing a caring home for the final two years of her life. There will be a Celebration of Life on December 28 at 1 PM at James Bay United Church, 511 Michigan Street, Victoria BC, at 1:00 PM. There will be a ceremony of Christian Burial and interment at the Eastlawn United Church Cemetery in Barrhead, Alberta. The interment will take place on January 3rd, 2015 at 2 PM, followed by a reception. Rose Garden Chapel in Barrhead is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Red Cross.
