Janice LAKE Obituary

LAKE Janice Tracy (nee Garneau). Our beautiful girl was taken from us suddenly on September 22, 2004. She is lovingly remembered by her beautiful children: Evalyn, 6 and Matthew, 2; husband, Matt; parents, Gerald and Carmen; sister, Cindy (Bob); nephew, Jeremy and in-laws, Mary and Matt Lake Sr. She will be dearly missed by our large extended families from Powell River, Montreal, Alberta and Victoria as well as her many friends from coast to coast. Born in Powell River, B.C. on October 4, 1976, Janice was always rambunctious and full of life. She loved people and was very compassionate; there were no lost sheep for her, she just rounded them up and brought them home. She was a Girl Guide then joined Air Cadets at 676 Squadron in Sidney where she learned the importance of teamwork and skills such as leadership and citizenship. She was a boisterous girl who loved to have dinner and go dancing with her friends and had a flair for style with her big boots and fire coloured hair. She met Matt in 2000 and after a whirlwind courtship they married on September 11, 2001. She was a wonderful and devoted mother to her children, involved in swimming lessons, t-ball and other activities. She loved to see them doing well and encouraged them to try new things. Her little family moved to Barrie, Ontario in April to further Matt's military career, where they were beginning to make a home for themselves. She was beautiful, fun and sassy. Janice had a wonderful smile and loving soul. She leaves behind many great memories and also many broken hearts. Friends may pay their respects at the Steven R. Bridge Funeral Home, Angus on Sunday, September 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass of a Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Chapel C.F.B. Borden on Monday September 27 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. A memorial service will be held in Victoria B.C. at a later date.
