Jean Devlin Obituary
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our dear sister, mother and grandmother Jean Devlin, after a brief battle with cancer. She passed away on June 27, 2015 at age 86. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her brother Derek (Valerie), daughter Ann, sons Victor (Linda), and Alan (Julieta); grandchildren Alan, Colin, Evan, Salena, Emily and Brandon; great-grandchild Kayden, step-grandchildren Kiana and Leeor and many close friends.
Jean was born on May 29, 1929 in Northern Ireland. In 1967 Jean and her family immigrated to Canada where she spent the rest of her life.
Jean's greatest loves were her family, dancing and her volunteer work. Jean was an accomplished ballroom dancer. She won many trophies including a Canadian Championship. After retiring from the workforce at age 65 Jean joined the Women's Auxiliary at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. Jean spent many happy hours working in the Gift Shop and made wonderful friends during her time there.
The family wishes to extend grateful thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and staff on 8 South at the Royal Jubilee Hospital for their wonderful care and support.
No service by request. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Women's Auxiliary at the Royal Jubilee Hospital would be appreciated.
