Joan James Obituary

JAMES, Joan D.
July 10, 1936 - November 28th, 2024
It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beautiful Mum, Nana, Great Nana, at the age of 88 in Chemainus, BC.
Mum was the center of our family's universe and we will cherish many years of fun, loving memories.
Joan was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Jack James in September of 2020. She is survived by her 3 children - John (Barb), Matthew (Marty) and Jennifer (Steve) along with 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandkids, who brought her so much joy.
Also left behind is her sister Ann (Frank), sister-in-law Robin, brother-in-law Peter (Liz) and many nieces and nephews as well as best lifelong friends Linda and Iain Brown.
Joan is fondly remembered by the many community groups she was involved in, including VRFD, the View Royal "coffee girls" and the View Royal Garden Club. She was an avid gardener and much like the Goddess Ceres with her abilities to make things grow and became well known for her expertise in roses, for which she won many prize ribbons.
Joan was a very kind person. She passed that on to all her family and friends and that will carry on through everyone's lives. Joan was loved by all who knew her.
Our deepest gratitude to Chemainus Long Term Care for their wonderful nursing staff and to all who cared for Joan.
Celebration of Life at a later date.

My deepest sympathy to Joan's family. Joan always had a cheerful smile which I will dearly miss. I know Joan from the View Royal Garden Club and really loved the cards she made for the Club. I believe she was a member since 2009. All the best, Joyce

My heart goes out to Joan´s people. I will miss her, too. There are many memories of Joan as I walk in my garden (from the plant divisions she shared.) Their flowers make me feel closer to her. Hugs
