Saddened to hear that John has died. He was a knowledgeable and entertaining companion in the Parliamentary Counsel Office in Dublin. And he struck me as a very honourable and honest man.
I was delighted to learn from him that he had been born in Scotland. Not far from where I was born. He was hoping to revisit his birthplace. I hope he did.

Very sorry to hear about John's passing. We were classmates at View Royal School in the late '40s and early '50s. He was a class act and I had great respect for him. My condolences to his family. You will surely miss him.

I am very sad to learn of John's demise. He was a delightful companion during the time I knew him in Ireland when, like me, he worked in the Irish Office of Parliamentary Counsel as a Consultant Parliamentary Counsel during the 'noughties'

John was a fine fellow, good rugby player. Drove buses with him in 1963/64 for BC Hydro. Gone too soon.

Dear Family of John
We called him Red Eye. Not because he had a red eye but because there was a Red Eye Hay in the NHL, and because of some mixup on names, and because of his Red Eye - like dash on the ruggah field.
John was a proud, bright, strong guy and a real pleasure to know.
I regret we lost touch. We were good friends in our youth.
Trude and I send our condolences.
Craig and Trudean Andrews
