John RUFFOLO Obituary

RUFFOLO John Frank Salvatore (Born in Victoria, BC on August 8, 1967 taken from us in October 2003) at the age of 36 years. Lois and Mario are so very sad to announce the sudden loss of their beloved son, John. John lived his entire life in Victoria, attending Marigold Elementary, Colquitz Secondary, Spectrum High (class of 85) and Camosun College (Recreation Leadership Program). He enjoyed many years playing with Saanich Minor Hockey and Hampton and Layritz Little Leagues. He was also an accomplished swimmer, working as a lifeguard at several locations in Victoria. John worked at Glendale Lodge until it's closing. He then trained in the field of security, working many years at the Wilkinson Road CorrectionCentre. He also worked in transition houses, with The Commissionaires and currently for Brinks Victoria. He spent his last night on shift in a home for residents with developmental disabilities. He had a genuine devotion to people. John's unique personality will be terribly missed by his entire family, we will carry him in our hearts forever. At our last gathering on Thanksgiving, John said he 'would do anything for kids'. Combined with his love of sports as a child, we believe he would appreciate donations in his memory to Kidsport, #200-990 Fort Street, Victoria, BC, V8V 3K2, a non-profit organization which provides financial assistance for Victoria area children to be involved in their chosen sport. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to everyone for their support during this very difficult time. Relatives, friends, co-workers and many others have been a tremendous source of strength for us all. We cannot thank you enough. Rest peacefully, John. We will always love you and know that we'll be together again one day.
