John Walcot Obituary


WALCOT, John H. Passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital on September 10, 2009 with family by his side. Predeceased by his loving wife, Margaret in 2007. He leaves behind his son, Bill (Pat); grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike), Heather (Peter), Stephen (Nancy); great-grandchildren, Kurtis, Chelsea, Devon, Kayleigh, Scott, Courtney and Olivia as well as many relatives and friends. John was born in Duncan on April 4, 1916 and spent most of his life on Vancouver Island. He loved the sea and was a passionate historian. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed the company of his friends. A private family memorial will be celebrated at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Island Deaf and Hard of Hearing Association, 1627 Fort Street, Victoria, BC V8R 1H8. To Walcot Family
We are sorry to hear that John passed away, He has been a very good long life and now He has no more pain and suffer. His beloved wife Margaret is happy to have him back in the heaven to be together with Margaret. John and Margaret are very good life together. Now John and Margaret are looking down to the world to see all deaf world and also see our deaf community . We all love them.. God bless everybody. Love

I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. John and Margaret both had been a huge part of my life, especially during Ningo and corn boils. They were like parents to so many of us in the deaf community. He is going to be missed by many of us.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I was so sorry to read about John's passing. He was a gem of a man and will be greatly missed. I enjoyed the times I spent with him during my visits to his home. My deepest sympathy to all the family.
