Joy Barnett Obituary

It is with breathtaking sadness that the Barnett family announces the passing of Joy Barnett, Joy now joins her lifelong partner and husband Doug. Joy was born and lived her life in Victoria and passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025. Joy's life can be best described as one amazing adventure with her husband Doug and family at her side.
Joy's story has not ended, a new chapter awaits, she may no longer be with us, but remains a part of so many lives. Her kindness, empathy and humour will always be remembered.
Joy leaves sons Daryl (Mona) and Ross (Leona) and grandchildren Tamara (Michael), Tyler (Bronwyn), Matt (Namiko), Katrina (Danny), Danielle (Josh), Dayna and Great-Grandchildren and nephew Kerry.

The family would like to thank the staff at hospice and Victoria HealthCare for their caring and compassion in Joy's final journey and making her last days calm and peaceful.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made directly to the Victoria Hospice Society.

My deepest condolences to Ross, Daryl and family.
My parents, Bob and Pat Jones, enjoyed many good times with Joy and Doug over the years.
Joy was such a kind, beautiful, empathetic person. I enjoyed talking with her whenever I saw her. She was such an amazing friend to my Mom after my Dad passed. Will forever remember her smile, sparkle of her eyes and sense of humour. All my love and thoughts

Joy always lived up to her name! <3 My parents, Ann & Peter Hulme, were Beach Drive Manor neighbours to Joy & Doug for decades. After they both lost their dear husbands, Mum & Joy continued to enjoy one another's company. My condolences to Daryl, Ross and all the family that she always spoke about so proudly. The world will miss her positive energy.

Daryl and Ross,
We enjoyed many birthday/ Christmas Eve parties at your family home. Their beautiful white Christmas tree with bright red lights and decorations, an endless amount of food that probably took Joy weeks to prepare and a house full of friends and family. Your Mom and Dad were the ultimate hosts! You were so blessed to have this
"Joy" in your life.
