MITCHELL, Joyce Arlene (née Lewis)
Joyce passed away on May 13, 2023. She was born in Edgerton, Alberta and moved to Nanaimo at the age of 9 with her parents and her sister. Joyce is predeceased by her mother and father Blanche and Harmon Lewis and sister Laurie Kemp. She is survived by her husband of 43 years John Mitchell and their loving dog Kobi; her daughters Cindy Terris (Xavier) and Peri Bishop (Dan); grandchildren Dal Terris, Kevin and Alexis Bishop; and many more family and friends.
Joyce loved to travel the world, especially cruising with her favorite ballroom dance partner John. They have spent the last 43 years going to Mesa Arizona every winter. Joyce loved Sunset Cove Marina and participated in all the activities, especially cooking pineapple tarts for the annual fishing derby.
Everyone is invited to attend the celebration of life for Joyce on June 3, 2023 between 1 - 3:30pm at Sands Funeral Home, #1 Newcastle Ave, Nanaimo, BC. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Children's Hospital: A" target="_blank" class="obit-text-link">www.bcchf.ca.
