Judith Reid Obituary

REID, Judith Ann (nee Steeves)
February 13, 1944 - May 15, 2025
Judith was a graduate of the Ottawa Civic Hospital School of Nursing class of '65 and Dalhousie University. She began her career as a visiting nurse with the Victorian Order of Nurses and retired in 2001 as Director of Client Services for the Ottawa-Carleton Community Care Access Centre.
She was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, the daughter of Aubrey and Helen (Mitton) Steeves and is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband Trent, sons Christopher (Sarah), Graham (Brittany), grandsons Gavan, Brandon, Dylan, Jackson and granddaughter Scarlett Rose. Also by childhood and life long friend Mary Louise Jaeggin.
Judith was a commanding 4'11" with natural red hair and described by some as a "dynamic spitfire" and the epitome of "good things come in small packages."
She was a victim of pulmonary fibrosis and succumbed on May 15 while being cared for at Victoria's Royal Jubilee Hospital. Many thanks to the Hospital staff and extra special thanks to the Island Health Community Care Nurses who helped her through many months of palliative care.

Celebrations of her life are tentatively planned to take place in both Victoria and Ottawa during the summer.

VERY sorry for your loss Trent. I have some excellent memories of our times together with my own Judy especially at Becky´s place in Victoria. In fact I was with Beck here in Montreal when she got the sad news. You´re sure to have some bad days in the next few months as I have had but will look on this lovely and vivacious lady with many wonderful memories. My deepest sympathies...

I am so very sorry for your loss Trent. It was a pleasure working so closely with Judi during our days at the CCAC. And it was a privilege to be able to connect with you on my occasional visits to Victoria. My sympathy to you and all your family.

Our sincere condolences to Trent and the wonderful family that Judi loved and lived for so much. Trent and Judi were true soulmates and our heart goes out to Trent in what must be a very difficult time.
Judi may have been small in stature but she was mighty in both spirit and love. Our world will never be the same without her. We will forever remember Judi´s incredible smile, contagious laugh and wonderful hugs. We miss you, Judi.

Judith was a friend, also a member of our walking group. She was one of those sincere and thoughtful people that immediately made you comfortable in her presence. Already she is missed.
