Judith Rollick Obituary

ROLLICK, Judith Ellen (Humber) August 17, 1944 - April 5, 2022 It is with immense sadness we announce Judy's passing. She was born in Seattle, WA to Charles and Marjorie Humber (Cope) and immigrated to Canada with her family as a young girl, settling in Oak Bay. Judy was passionate about Badminton growing up and organized sport has been a part of her life since the age of 11. It was through Badminton where she met her late husband and true love Bruce Irwin Alexander Rollick. Judy went on to win many Canadian Badminton titles in Junior, Open and Senior ranks and represented Canada at multiple Commonwealth Games and the Uber Cup. Judy attended Victoria College and was an elementary physical education teacher prior to raising her two daughters. At the age of 45 she began focusing on golf a game she said from the beginning was a "spiritual journey." Golf became a passion for Judy and she met many true friends through the game that she cherished immensely. Judy loved life and thought it was a gift to be cherished and enjoyed. She was a rare person who could connect with everyone she met and was able to pull the best out of all she connected with. Walking away from a conversation with Judy usually left one feeling uplifted and better about oneself. Her laugh and smile could brighten up any room and turn an ordinary day into something special. Her honesty, acceptance, happiness and love had a profound impact on all who were blessed to call her friend or family. Judy will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by her husband Bruce and her sister Jane Keenan and is survived by her two daughters Lisa Reilly (Rollick) (Patrick) and Elayne Rollick as well as her two grandchildren Jordan Reilly and Gage Reilly. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, a donation in Judy's memory may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice. Elayne and Lisa, as I read this tribute to your Mom, her full spirit came to life for me. While I haven't seen her for many years, I remember her just as this describes her - full of optimism and positivity, and someone who made everyone feel loved and accepted. One memory that remains vivid is when she invited me to join she and Elayne for lunch at the Shanunessy Gold Club - I was dressed in a denim skirt, and the maitre d' at the restaurant told me I wasn't allowed to come in. I felt a lot of embarrassment, and your Mom went out of her way to advocate for me and make me feel a sense of belonging. She was a very special woman. I am so sorry for you loss, and walk along side you in your grief. With much love, Lisa Wiens

Too sad to lose an amazing friend with one of the most delightful sense of humour ever. I have many happy memories of laughing at ourselves over minor adventures.
Fond memories.

My deepest sympathy. Judy was such a beautiful lady and Jane, her sister, was my dearest friend.
