Karen Gealla McLAUGHLIN

McLAUGHLIN, Karen Gealla Passed away suddenly on June 22, 2016 at the age of 53 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving family: husband Lance Ian McLaughlin; step-daughter Kayla Meghan McLaughlin, and son Lance Edward McLaughin; brothers Keith and Kevin Teigland and their wives and children. She was predeceased by her parents Harvey Edward and Vivian Leafie Teigland. Karen lived with her family in a small but happy home in Esquimalt. Together her family had many happy years together and raised an amazing boy, and got to spend wonderful times with her step-daughter Kayla. Although Kayla lived in Portland with her mother Shari Mclaughlin, she would spend many summers and holiday time with her family in Canada or vice versa. Karen loved everyone that she met and enjoyed life immensely. Despite Karen's life-long heart condition she was able to participate in many great family trips and adventures. Karen had a great love for arts and crafts, especially scrapbooking. Many of her other loves was fuzzy cats and dogs, and spending time outdoors in their backyard. Friends are invited to a celebration of life to be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 2:00 pm at 1023 Lyall Street, Esquimalt. Please join them in celebrating the beautiful life of Karen Teigland McLaughlin this upcoming Saturday. This gathering will be in lieu of a traditional funeral service. Instead, Karen would have loved for everyone to get together and share their happiest memories in one of her most favorite places (her backyard). The event will be hosted by Karen's family and wonderful next door neighbors Rob and Ian (address above) and will take place in their house and adjoining backyards.
