Karen SALVADOR Obituary

In Loving Memory of Karen Salvador

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Karen Salvador.

Karen is survived by her loving husband Jon, daughters Emily (Terry) and Carey, her mother Florence, sister Kathy, brother Michael (Lori), cherished grandsons Dax and Levi, and many dear nieces and nephews.

Karen grew up in the Blenkinsop Valley, where she spent her childhood riding bikes, camping, and boating with friends and family. In 1986, she married Jon Salvador, and together they built a loving home in Sidney, raising their daughters among family, friends, and wonderful neighbours. Jon and Karen's 39-year marriage was filled with love, laughter, and family. They were looking forward to celebrating their 40th anniversary with a cruise next year.

Karen devoted nearly 30 years to Saanich Peninsula Hospital, where she worked in the kitchen and took great pride in preparing meals for patients and staff. She retired from The Peninsula in 2019, looking forward to enjoying a well-earned time of rest and relaxation.

Karen was "Mom" to many and welcomed everyone who came through her door with warmth, a home-cooked meal, and her signature baking. She was known for her generous spirit and legendary gatherings that brought people together.

As a grandmother, "Nan", Karen shone even brighter. She devoted her retirement to caring for her grandsons, cheering them on at hockey games, and filling their lives with love, laughter, and treats from her kitchen.

Karen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of those she touched. We will forever cherish the memories shared and hold her close in our hearts always.

Plans for a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Karen was such a special loving person. She became our neighbour on Blenkinsop Road when we built our house next door to the McGregors. She was just eight years old. When she got older she became a great babysitter for Kevin and Shon. Our heartfelt condolences to Jon and family, and to Flo, Kathy, Mike and Lori.
