Kathryn Evans Obituary

EVANS, Kathryn Mary
Born December 20, 1947 she grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. Upon finishing High School she went on to an exciting career with Pacific Western, Canadian and Air Canada lasting 32 years.
She married Larry on August 21, 1999 and retired from the Airlines in August 2001. After briefly working with Costco she and Larry retired to Nanaimo, Vancouver Island in September 2005.
Kathy became the stepmother to Larry's children Christopher and Julie and eventually the grandmother to Chris's children Aneurin and Thomas.
Kathy was pre-deceased by her parents George and Mary Miller, her brother Jim and her dear Aunt Florence Kennedy.
Passing peacefully on December 4, 2024, she is survived by her loving husband and best friend Larry, Chris, Milena Aneurin and Thomas Evans and Julie and Kyle O'Leary. Kathy also leaves to mourn many dear friends, both near and far and her much loved furry companion...Cooper.

Kathy has left a huge void in our lives and at her request we will not be having a Service or Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to either the Parkinson's Society or the MAID Program. At a date TBD in January, 2025 we will have a reception to share memories and laughs over a glass of wine to honour my dearest "Lucy"!

Dear Larry and family, our love to all at this very sad time. Kathy will be greatly missed. Her ability to make everyone she met comfortable and welcome. Laughter came to her easily and was contagious. We always enjoyed our trips with you both and many lovely meals at your home. May you find solace in knowing she was well loved and is now at peace. A lovely butterfly. With our love,

My condolences to Larry and family. Kathy was a very special person and it was always such a pleasure to spend time with her. Even when she was dealing with health issues she maintained her quirky sense of humour. She was smart, she was always kind, she loved her family and her friends and was much loved in return. She will be missed. I will think of her often but especially if I see red geraniums or someone struggling with a little brown dog.

I always remember her for the wisdom and efficient way she could answer questions, or find answers. When I left PWA, a year or two later, we ran into each other in Vancouver, and she took an interest of what I endeavored to do, and that was impressive. She will be missed by many.

Kathy and I have been friends for 50+ years. I called her my sister and she called me her brother. We met in Edmonton with PWA. We had many great skiing times and lots of partying in sun destinations. Ann and I are sad of her passing. Rest in Peace Kathy, our dearest friend. Condolences and hugs to Larry and family.

Kathy was one of my favourite instructors and later a great manager at YYC. I too was caught chewing gum - Kathy could detect that from a distance! If Kathy didn´t know the answer to a question, she´d say so and also say she´d find out - and she would. Kathy had a big impact on a lot of us and will be remembered fondly. Condolences to Kathy´s friends and family.

Such warm memories of Kathy, who we fondly called click click because of those very high heels she wore. Thinking of you Larry

Everyone loved Kathy at work, always friendly with a great smile. Her fast clipping high heels and what ever you did, don´t chew gum! Rip my dear friend.
