Kelly Wenzel Obituary

WENZEL, Kelly Joan Barbara
Kelly passed away peacefully on December 25, 2022 in Victoria, BC, after a long battle with MS. She was born on May 30, 1961 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Kelly is survived by her parents, John & Eva Wenzel, her brother Kirk (Susan), sisters Karla, Kyra (Chris) and Kim, and many other family and friends. She will be missed by all.
Kelly moved to Victoria with her family when she was 4, where she grew up and lived her life. She loved painting, travel, photography, bowling, and making specialty cakes for her nieces' and nephews' birthdays. Mostly, Kelly loved her family, and her heavenly father, she was a devoted Christian. Kelly's infectious smile was prominently displayed on many posters, signs and web pages for Nigel House where she lived and was supported for many years of her life.
Our family would like to thank the residents and staff at Nigel House, who, over those years, provided care, comfort and love to Kelly. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Nigel House (part of the Broadmead Care Society family of care homes) at:
https://www.broadmeadcare.com/nigel-house-donations/

A Celebration of Life will be held in late spring, details to follow.
Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallgardens.com/obituaries

I am sad to learn of Auntie Kelly's passing. I have not seen her since I was a young child but she was a close friend of my parents. I have fond memories of her visiting our house at Christmas time and exchanging the silliest joke gifts with my dad. She also would bake the most incredible cakes for my birthdays as well. Very sad to hear she is gone, she was a truly lovely person. Holding her family and loved ones in my thoughts and heart today.

Dear Wenzel Family,

My condolences go out to all of you.
Kelly was and will always be my BFF (Best Friend Forever). Kelly and I had many adventures growing up, and any chance we had to get together was always a good laugh.
Over the years we had a few opportunities when I was in town to meet for tea, and despite her MS Kelly was always filled with laughter and joy.

Today I smile through tears, as Kelly is no longer held by the MS, and is free to soar.
I will celebrate Kelly's life with all the joyful memories of laughter, her positive outlook, her love of family and friends, may these memories continue to burn bright in my life.
Love to you all,
Jennifer Cumberbatch

I will miss my beautiful sister. She was so talented and genuine and loved her family so much. She is watching over us now and I know I will see her again some day, free of the disease which held her prisoner for so many years. Thank you sister, for all the laughs and time spent together. Love you always and forever! You are in Gods hands now.

I had the privilege of working with Kelly 20 and a bit years ago. She was always so witty and positive. What a loss for all of us.
