Kenneth Weeks Obituary

WEEKS, Kenneth Wilfred Born November 17, 1926 in Nanaimo, B.C. The eldest son of William and Elizabeth Weeks. He passed away peacefully with his family at his side on June 21, 2015. Ken is survived by his loving wife Ruth, his four children: Grant, Marilyn (Russell), Brad (Sandy) and Janice (Paul). Grandchildren: Jordan (Margie), Garrett (Jessica), Dakota, Brighton, Ryder, Dylan (Hayley), Brady, Emily, Annika and Haven. Great Grandchildren: Cooper, Claire, Allison, Reagan and Piper. Ken taught at Chemainus Secondary School for 35 years until he retired in 1983 when he then started a new career as owner of the Hobby Hut store in Ladysmith for the next 15 years. Ken was a member of the Ladysmith Lions Club, as well as the Eagles Aerie 2101 and the Probus Club of Ladysmith. Thank you to Dr. Kennedy and the wonderful staff of the fourth floor at the Lodge on 4th. The Celebration of his Life will be held June 29, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the First United Church, 232 High Street, Ladysmith B.C. Followed by a gathering of friends and family at the Eagles Hall, 921 First Avenue, Ladysmith B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ken's memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. Condolences may be offered at [email protected]

Ruth, my greatest hope that you and your family gain some strength from the knowledge that Ken offered gentle and positive support to so many people during his life. I will remember him as a soft spoken, kind gentle man who treated me with such respect and consideration. I knew him as my Landlord during the time I owned Bayview Framing & Art.
