Kenneth Wong Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Kenneth Lin Gun Wong announces his sudden and unexpected passing at the age of 83, on August 26th, 2018. Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife (Christine), daughter Jo-Ann, son Darren (Cindy), and his two grandchildren, Cameron and Sabrina.

Born in Zhongshan, China in 1935, Ken immigrated to Victoria, B.C. in 1955, to join his grandfather in Canada. Ken ran a successful business, Cambridge Supermarket, in Estevan Village in Oak Bay for over 30 years. In 2018, Ken and Christine moved to Port Credit, Ontario, to be closer to his son, daughter in-law, and especially his two cherished grandchildren. He spent his last few months absolutely overjoyed in his role as grandfather and babysitter.

The Memorial Service and Interment for Kenneth was held in Ontario with only close family present, as per his wishes. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

We lived in Estevan Village from 1988 to 2004 and well remember the kindness of Ken, especially during a time when he saw me hobbling with my foot in a cast towards his store. He promptly said "you order, I deliver".... A fine immigrant who worked so hard - my husband and I send condolences to his family - such a nice man.....
