Kerry Coxon Obituary

Kerry Lynne Patrice Coxon (née Letnes), 68, passed away on February 12, 2026, in Victoria, British Columbia. Kerry Lynne's warmth, generosity, and bright spirit touched everyone who knew her. Born in Fresno, California, Kerry Lynne moved to Terrace, BC with her sister Camille at the age of seven, following the passing of their parents. She spent many carefree days with her horse Sundance and graduated from Caledonia Senior Secondary.

Kerry Lynne's varied and fulfilling career began at BC Tel, where she worked from 1977 to 1996. She then joined Rocky Mountaineer Rail Tours from 1997 to 2000 before finding her long-term professional home at the Empress Hotel. She was a dedicated member of the Empress hospitality team for 22 years.

Kerry Lynne cherished living near Beacon Hill Park and took great joy in the beauty and tranquility of her neighbourhood. Her days were often filled with simple pleasures: long walks through the park, gardening, dark chocolate, wine, knitting cozy creations, and sharing a cup of coffee and her world-famous Skor bar cookies with family and friends. She especially enjoyed travel, beach days, and many happy summers camping, and swimming in the ocean.

Kerry Lynne is predeceased by her parents, Evelyn Austin and Ronald Letnes; her brother, Kim Letnes; and sister, Charmaine Douglas. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters Camille Woodruff, Barbara Prevost, Diane LeBlanc, and Dona Gette Jochumsen. She holds a special place in the hearts of her "adopted" family: Grampa George Foster (Marj), Joy, Mike, Julia, Pam, Richard, Sharon, Michael, Andrew, Steven, Nancy, Alf, Eliza, Ginny, Dan, Patty, and Becca.

Forever beautiful, intelligent, fun-loving, mischievous, and kind-hearted, Kerry Lynne will be deeply missed and affectionately remembered. She faced her final chapter with courage, grace, and the love of those closest to her.

A celebration of Kerry Lynne's life will be planned and shared with loved ones at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in her memory to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

With gratitude, we thank Dr. Wenqi Tan and Dr. Joshua Budlovsky for their compassionate care.

Kerry Lynne...i have just heard of your passing today and my heart is broken. Although we had limited touch in our later years, I still remember fondly of our summer together with Uncle Bill & Auntie Dona and Grandma & Grandpa Letnes after we had both lost our mothers. Those days were bittersweet and we shared our sorrows together. I know that you are with your family again and will hold you always in my heart. Love always....
