Kevin Patton Obituary

PATTON, Kevin Shawn It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kevin on November 11, 2010. Kevin was born in Victoria on April 18, 1959. He was a kind and gentle man with a big heart. His sense of humour will remain a legend. He loved going to Shamrock Lacrosse games with his mom, and was a faithful season ticket holder. Hockey was another passion, and his favourite team was the Calgary Flames. He got great pleasure from competing with friends and family who were fans of what he considered lesser teams. Kevin's daughters, grandchildren and family meant everything to him and he loved them with all his heart. Kevin was predeceased by his dad Lawrence Patton (1982), and his sister Sharon Ball (1983). He will be remembered and deeply missed by his wife Marlene, daughters Jennifer (Ryan) and Jessica, grandchildren Zackary and Alexa, mom Joyce, brother Brian, sister Heather Ralph (Stewart), and many other family and friends. At Kevin's request there will be no service. Please join us for an open house to celebrate Kevin's life beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Friday November 19th at 1041 Jasmine Avenue. Please bring your favourite photos and special memories to share. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Kevin's name. 610084

Uncle Kevin, I know you hated to be called uncle because it made you feel old, but I will on behalf of LJ. Words can not express how much you are missed, you were really too young to leave us. My heart breaks being so far away from all those that you had loved. You will always be the uncle that was generous, loving and who you could always count on for a joke. I am thankful for the years since we reconnected where I got to know Mum's baby brother. Have a laugh with Mum and rest peacefully. Love you so very much.
My heart is with all the family, I wish I was too. Big hugs to you all, love you beyond words.

Well I must say that I'm totaly shocked at Kevin's passing as we are both the same age.

We both attended Doncaster school together many many years ago. As kids we did everything together as I used to refer to Kevin as the "Silver Toothed Tiger" because of his capped tooth! We spent many hours at his house very near Doncaster school just 'Goofin Around". As a pair of young boys I was the one who was "Offside and Knowing Few Boundries" back then, but Kevin's sensible attitude kept us both out of trouble!!
(I forget the street name that Kevin lived on, Thistle Street Maybe???)

Anyways as I have now lived in over 13 countries now, Kevin stands out as a "Great Guy With A Fantastic Sense of Humour" My condolenses to Marlene, his Mom, Sister, Brother and family.
