CARTLIDGE, Larry Bruce
Bruce left us peacefully on June 29, 2025 at the age of 81 years.
He is survived by wife Myrna, children Heather (Phil Hines) and James (Crystal), and grandchildren: Jordan, Kelsey, & Bryson (Heather), Emma & Jimmy (James). He was predeceased by his first wife Judy (Morreau) in 2000.
Born in Souris, Manitoba on November 28, 1943, Bruce proudly served over 35 years in the Navy, accumulating 13 years at sea. He retired in 1995 as a Chief Petty Officer First Class.
Sincere thanks to Saanich Peninsula Hospital & Veterans Memorial Lodge for their kind and loving care.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First Memorial Funeral Home, 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC at 2:00 PM on September 13, 2025. Donations in memory of Bruce can be made to the Saanich Peninsula Hospital or Veterans Memorial Lodge.

I worked with Bruce as a steward in the CAF.. he was a great mentor and the consummate gentlemen. My biggest take away of his leadership style was to not be hasty in making decisions that involve others. Take your time and allow the situation to fully develop then make the decision. Great guy.
