LaVerne Reid Obituary

REID, LaVerne Marie
February 14, 1944 - October 11, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of LaVerne Reid, beloved mother, sister and aunt. She was born in the Comox Valley to Gordon and Helen McIntyre and was older sister to Marcia and Leo (deceased).
She leaves behind her son Jason, (Anni), daughters Terra and Linda (Dale), grandchildren Trent (Caylee), Annette, Josh, Rebecca, Molly, sister Marcia (Dennis), nieces Trish (Drew), Tina (Doug) and nephew Byron (Leah).
To LaVerne family was the most important thing in her life and she was so proud of each one of her children and grandchildren.
She was gifted with a beautiful singing voice and starred in several operettas in her younger years. She was fondly called "Auntie Binnie" by her nieces and nephew and was renowned for the gourmet vegetables she contributed to family dinners. She was always quick to offer time for others, to plan a wedding shower or fund raiser for a colleague who was fighting cancer.
She was known for her strong work ethic and cheery personality and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
There will be a family Celebration of LaVerne's Life at a later date.

To dear LaVerne's family - I am so sorry to hear the news of LaVerne passing and offer my sincere and deep sympathy to you all. She was a bright light and a great resource in the workplace where I worked with her for many years. She had a cheery disposition and terrific work ethic, always evident as we worked together often to resolve issues. I will miss her and am sorry that I had lost touch with her over the past few years. I remember her fondly. Cherish your sweet and loving memories of your mother, grandmother and aunt and sister.
