Lena Chow Obituary

CHOW, Lena (nee Lee) April 13, 1932 - May 16, 2018 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lena, our wonderful wife, sister, amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 16, surrounded by her loving family. Lena was born in Vancouver, B.C. on April 13, 1932 and moved to Victoria B.C. in 1941. She attended North Ward Elementary (where she met her future husband Alec Chow) and graduated from Victoria High School in 1952. Lena worked for the B.C. Government prior to her marriage to Alec on August 25, 1956 and thereafter focused on raising their family of 6 children. Lena's passion was her family, she was the greatest supporter of their many activities and also loved to travel. Lena found a second career working at Peoples Jewellers where she enjoyed her colleagues and meeting people. Lena is survived by her devoted husband Alec of 61 years, brother King (Linda), children Stephanie (Roger), Arlene (Rob), Janice, Ross (Lynn), Greg (Toni), Kristine; grandchildren Shanna (Mike), Jeremy (Jen), Sandra (Stephen), Mathew, Jordan (Andrew), Kelsey, Sarah, Kira, Amy, Andrew, Nathan; and great-grandchildren Annie, Rose, Nora, Lucy and Clark. We would like to express our gratitude to the staff at Mt. Tolmie Hospital for their dedication, kindness and support to our entire family. Thanks also to Dr. Cuddeford and Dr. Edora. A celebration of Lena's life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to HeadWay Victoria Epilepsy & Parkinson's Centre or Greater Victoria Eldercare Foundation.
