Lillian King Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lily King (née Doty, formerly MacFadyen), who left us suddenly and peacefully on September 18.
Born in East Orange, New Jersey in 1947, Lily grew up in New Jersey and Pennsylvania before eventually making her way west, drawn to the natural beauty and creative spirit of California, Oregon, and later British Columbia. She built a rich and adventurous life, balancing family, career, and a love of the outdoors.
Lily devoted much of her life to nursing, a profession in which her kindness, skill, and dedication touched many lives. She was respected by colleagues and remembered by many for her compassion and excellence. Outside of work, she found joy in swimming, hiking, traveling, and exploring the mountains, forests, and coasts that she loved so deeply.
Above all, Lily was a devoted partner, mother, sister, and grandmother. She leaves behind her husband Dennis, sister Laurel, brother Edmund, daughter Amy, sons Jesse and Shasta. She is also survived by her five grandsons. Her legacy will live on in the family she nurtured and the many lives she touched.

I worked with Lily for many years at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. So sad to see that she has left us. What a kind, gentle and skilled nurse she was and a supportive friend to all. She once told me that she missed having her daughter Amy at home to help her keep up with the current fashion! When our co-worker Noni died Lily was first to thoughtfully call and let me know. Noni had created Lily´s work nickname Lillehammer! My sincere condolences to Lily´s family.
