BOND, Lloyd Stewart
September 7, 1941 - March 20, 2025
With hearts full of love and cherished memories, we, the family of Lloyd Bond, announce his peaceful passing on March 20, 2025. Predeceased by his loving wife Heather; his mother Mina Bond; his brothers Vernon and Donald Bond.
Fondly remembered by his partner Louise; children Christopher, Deborah (Chris), and Richard; grandchildren Nicholas, Benjamin, Emily, Matthew, Kodi, Matteo, and Monroe; and Louise's son Robert, and grandchild Amanda.
Lloyd joined the Queen's Own Rifles at Camp Borden, ON, where he was awarded "Best Solider" after completing a Junior non-commissioned Officers course. Lloyd also volunteered with the Peace Corps in Cyprus during his service.
Lloyd married Heather Edwards in 1966, and moved to Victoria where he started his career with the Sooke School Board as a custodian. After working at many schools he earned his position as Head Custodian. He was friends with staff and students alike. Lloyd took pride in attacking the broom along Esquimalt Lagoon, spearheading the campaign to eliminate it and restore the area to its natural environment.
After Heather's passing, Lloyd met Louise. They spent many years together, continuing to volunteer at the JDF Seniors Centre, working in the kitchen and enjoying the dances.
Interment will be held for family at Hatley Memorial Gardens. A reception will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel - Colwood (317 Goldstream Ave) at 11am on May 2, 2025.
No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to a charity of your choice.
