Lloyd Davey Obituary


DAVEY, Lloyd Robert 1924 2007 Lloyd died at the Jubilee Hospital, March 14, 2007 at the age of 82. Born in Huntsville, Ontario, Lloyd was predeceased by his parents Laura and Robert Davey and his first wife Eileen. Survived by loving wife Patricia, Victoria; cherished son Keith (Megumi), Long Beach, CA; sister Helen Austin (Ron), Huntsville ON. Lloyd was a special stepfather to Karen LaRone (Lloyd), Colleen Karir (Bob), Heather HusnikOsborne (David) and beloved Grandpa Lloyd" to their children. Lloyd served five years with the Princess Louise Dragoon Guards, four and a half years which were overseas with the Canadian Armored Corp, and over twenty-five years with the Ontario Department of Lands and Forests. He considered his planning and development of the Killarney Provincial Park, when he was Parks Supervisor for the Sudbury district, a lasting and great achievement. Golf was a primary recreational interest during his twenty-four years of retirement in Victoria until the hills became too steep and the fairways too long. Funeral service will be conducted by Father John Hannen at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 1525 Begbie (corner of Belmont) Wednesday, 21 March at 2:00pm followed by a reception in the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers donations to the Cancer Society or charity of your choice would be appreciated. The soul would have no rainbow had the eye no tears. 349846

We were not able to live close together but still I felt close to you in a different way and looked up to many things you did with pride. 'That's my Uncle Lloyd'

Although I have been out of touch with Lloyd a number of years now, I am saddened by the news of his passing. I am fortunate to have have known such good man.

I'd like to offer my condolonces to Pat and Keith.

So long Lloyd, your canoe paddles are in good hands.
