DENISON, Loretta (née Clunk)
May 23, 1935 - May 1, 2025
Born in Victoria, BC, Loretta passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, in Ladysmith, BC, just weeks before her 90th birthday.
Predeceased by her parents, Margery Remillard (née Hawkins) and Frederick Clunk, Loretta is lovingly remembered by her daughter Leslie Brown (Dan) of Ladysmith; her brother Howard Clunk, also of Ladysmith; sisters-in-law Lynda Chadwick and Susie Remillard; nieces Jody (Ken), Melanie, Brenda (David), Debbie, and Leslie; nephews Rob (Lara) and Jamie (Cindy); grandchildren Deaton (Nicole) and Cody; four great-grandchildren; her lifelong friend Eunice; and cherished friends Kelly, Shab, Monica, Brian, and many more extended family and friends.
Known to many as Laurie, she was born and raised in Victoria. In her younger years, she modeled and even participated in wrestling before establishing herself in Edmonton as an independent accounting professional.
After spending several years in Edmonton, she returned to the West Coast, living first in West Vancouver and later in New Westminster. Even after retiring from accounting, Loretta remained active, working well into her 80s in retail positions at Things Engraved and Bentley's.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Oyster Harbour Seniors Community Care Home for their compassionate care and kindness.
As per Loretta's wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
