CREWS, M. Simonne (nee Leotaud) Sept. 21, 1909 ~ June 24, 2005 Born and raised in Trinidad, Simonne arrived in Victoria with her husband, Jack Mackenzie, and two daughters in 1940 and settled at Albert Head West of Victoria. In 1953 the Mackenzies moved into Victoria. Jack passed away in 1961 and Simonne married Stanley Crews in 1967. Stanley died in 1975. Simonne is survived by her daughters, Mary Davidson of Pleasantville, N. S. and Christine Gollner of Victoria, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; as well, brother, Mark Leotaud of Trinidad and sisters, Angela Szabo of Tannersville, PA and Louie Easter of Seminole, Florida. In addition to her siblings and their families, Simonne leaves behind an extended family in Trinidad; the Huttons, the de Labastides and the Leotauds, and in Canada and England Simonne's extended family includes the Mackenzie and Crews families. Sadly Simonne passed away June 24 at the Victoria General Hospital. Simonne loved her friends and family, a good game of bridge, and her volunteer work with the Women's Auxiliary of the Arthritis Society. We will all miss Simonne greatly. A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 1155 Fort Street, June 30, at 3 p.m., followed by a gathering at a family home. In lieu of flowers, donation gratefully accepted by the Alzheimer Society or the Arthritis Society. 107893
