I worked with Marg most recently during the pandemic, which posed many additional burdens for clinical instruction on instructors and students in many ways still being documented. One initiative to address not instructors' and students' desire to help out as nurses during these difficult times was to involve students in the vaccine programs in Victoria. Marg played an essential role in inspiring students and other instructors and nurses to get involved and to work out the many challenges of making that happen. Having students involved in mass vaccination clinics was challenging and sometimes frustratingly difficult. Marg was part of solving those problems and allowing students to make a difference.

That smile. It was frequently on display. I remember Marg as a feisty advocate, mentor, and clear communicator. I am grateful for her encouragement and guidance on my professional journey. I recall Marg's investment in nursing continuing education, organizing conferences for local pediatric healthcare professionals off the side of her desk. Not only were they informative, she managed to garner funding to make them very affordable or free. Marg embodied nursing in the most holistic of ways, inspiring those around her in an unassuming manner. Sincerest condolences to Ron, Bob, and the rest of the family, Cheryl

Marg was a star - as a nurse, as a colleague, as a student! I had the pleasure of being her supervisor when she did her Master of Nursing degree. She was bright, inquisitive and very creative. I enjoyed working with her so much and was delighted when she came to teach at the University of Victoria. She brought energy and joy to everything she did. I will miss her! I offer my sincere condolences to her family. May she rest in peace.

Marg Eastman was an amazing friend and colleague to many at the University of Victoria, School of Nursing. Known to be a dedicated and experienced clinical nursing instructor, Marg was a passionate advocate for promoting students' learning i.e., listening with intention, mentoring and instilling confidence in students' abilities. Among our team of instructors, we appreciated Marg's positive energy in moving us forward on issues of importance to nursing instructors, and as well, to our School of Nursing and to society overall. We'll now 'hold you in the light' Marg, as we draw from your faith in others; your determination and team spirit! Your wisdom and compassion for promoting best practice and excellence in nursing education is your legacy. Such a good friend you have been to us all, we´ll miss our good times together, working through the `kinks´ with your amazing wit, feisty spirit, and enduring friendship. My sincere condolences to Ron, and Marg´s family and friends.
Warmest regards, Maureen Hobbs

My deepest condolences to Ron and also to Marg´s entire family. I met Marg almost 30 years ago when I was working at the School Board Office and our paths crossed socially at that time. I attended gatherings in her home and she and I immediately hit it off! I got to know her well in 2000 when our paths crossed frequently in our work in Children's Health. We attended conferences together and also presented together over the years. Marg was devoted to social justice in her promotion of change to effect the health and well being of children-especially those with complex medical issues. She truly was an agent of change (before her time in many ways) and not afraid to speak out on behalf of others who were disenfranchised; she was a brave soul. Marg was one of the brightest women I have ever encountered. You could always count on her to "call a spade a spade" and not beat around the bush with verbosity. She was direct and to the point. This made it easy to confide in her and trust that you were gonna get her direct and open feedback. Marg grieved deeply, the loss of her daughter Karin. Again, such a brave soul. I will miss my dear friend so much. Marg, may you rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Margarets passing. Sincerest Condolences to Ron and Family. Such a sweet caring lady, gone far too soon. We loved her doting over us, and the treats she brought out to Sunday morning practises and games, and keeping everybody organised at tournaments, and on road trips! R.I.P. Margaret, you will be sorely missed.

My heartfelt condolences to you all. Margaret was "one-of-a-kind" and I remember preceptor nursing students spending a day with her at traveling clinics and being in awe of how she and the physician interacted with families to build trust. She truly practiced "family- centered care" and she will be missed not just as a practitioner and patient advocate, but as a friend.
