LEITCH, Margaret Jean
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, aunt and friend passed away on September 10th, 2024 at Aberdeen Long Term Care Hospital at the age of 93. She is predeceased by her husband, William (Bill), and brothers Hugh and Jim. She leaves behind to mourn her daughters Diane, Pat (Lucia), grandchildren Jessie, David (Claire), Rachel, Charlie, William and Rosa, great-grandchildren Marlon, Angelita, Lisamaria, Raquel, Eliecer, Mathyas, Hadassah along with many nieces and nephews, especially Tom (Hayley). She always tried to look at the bright side of things; she will be fondly remembered as a positive influence in our lives and will be deeply missed. Jean was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba where she met the love of her life, Bill. They were married for 56 years until his death in 2010. She never stopped missing him. Jean nursed through the polio and diphtheria epidemics and was invited to be one of the first open heart surgery nurses in Canada. She enjoyed her career, and was always there as our private nurse when we needed it.
The family wishes to send a special thank-you to the staff at Aberdeen Hospital, Victoria General Hospital, and the Royal Jubilee Hospital, for their care and compassion of our mom and grandma.
The family asks that donations in Jean's memory be made to the Royal Jubilee Hospital.
