Margaret McGOWAN Obituary

Margaret (Turner) McGowan died in her 102nd year. She was born in Victoria and attended St Ann's Academy. She met her beloved Johnny while working at Mc & Mc. After raising their 2 children, she worked many years as a clerk at RJH. She and Johnny enjoyed many years together square dancing, travelling, enjoying family and tending their home on Balfour Ave. After John died in 2005, Margaret enjoyed time with her family, her card buddies, and her best friend Gwen King. As the memory keeper for her large family, she compiled a family history and met new family members online. She was a long-time member of the Sacred Heart Church and a founding member of St Joseph's parish. She missed John immensely, and they are now reunited with multiple pussy-cats at their feet. Many thanks to neighbours Dave and David, her card buddies and Penny Glennie for their friendship over the last years. Missing her are her children Bernie (Cheryl) and Bernice (Howie), her grandchildren Keith (Sherrey), Gina (Rick), Hannah (Emilie) and Toby (Rose), great grandchildren Arianna, Quentin, Arlo, Rory and Rowyn, and nieces & nephews from the Turner family. No funeral by request. Donations to Canuck Place would be welcome.

Bernice and Bernie and families
I was saddened to hear of your mom's passing. I was so fond of her intelligence and great memories. She was a bridesmaid in my parents wedding party and my Godmother. We will miss her.

Thinking of you and all of your family Bernice. What an amazing long life your mum had and all she saw of the change and growth of Victoria. She leaves an amazing legacy of grand and great grand children and you will all be missing her.

Lots of good memories of your mom & dad when we were in school. Roller skating in the basement, working on our bikes and fun times at Adams Rock. My sincere condolences to all of your family, Bernie.
