Marguerite MacKenzie Obituary

MacKENZIE, Marguerite
It is with broken hearts that we announce the death of our beautiful Wife and Mother, Marguerite MacKenzie. After struggling with dementia over the last six years, Marguerite died peacefully at home on September 8th, 2025. Born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to Lawrence and Margaret MacDonald in 1940, "Maggie" was a long time bank employee, first with the Bank of Commerce and then TD bank until retirement. Marguerite is survived by her loving husband Chuck MacKenzie; daughters Wendy MacKenzie (Marc Bowers), and Lea Chaplin (Bob); and her beloved granddaughter Grace. Mom was predeceased by her parents and brothers Fabian, Jedda, and Lennie.
The family would like to thank the wonderful Staff at the Saanich Peninsula Hospital, where Mom had a lengthy stay, as well as Saanich Community Health, and the Palliative Response Team from Victoria Hospice, who enabled us to care for her comfortably at home until the very end. We felt so supported by the loving care provided by the many Care Aides who helped us care for Mom at home, especially Tess and Brenda.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Marguerite's memory to either Victoria Hospice or the Saanich Peninsula Hospital and Healthcare Foundation.

Yesterday

I went to school with (Petty) in the early 50s. She was always so happy and positive and she was very smart.
So sorry to read her obituary as I haven´t seen her
Since the late 50s. So sorry that she wasn´t well for sometime before her death.

My sincere condolences to Chuck, Wendy and Lea on the loss of Marguerite. Chuck and Marguerite were my fantastic neighbors on Derby Road for many years. Marguerite was always so friendly and helpful, I'm so sorry to hear of her passing. With heartfelt regards, Rick
