DELLA SIEGA, Mario It is with great sadness that we share the news that Mario Della Siega passed away September 3, 2017 at the age of 81 years. He leaves behind his wife Mary Anne, 2 sons and their wives: Anthony (Barbara) and Wayne (Jeany), 3 grandchildren, Aidan, Beckett and Ciana, 2 step-grandchildren, Kayleigh and Alex and 1 step-great-grandchild, Hudson. Mario bravely left his native Italy, to make a new life for himself in Canada at the age of 17. He settled into a career working for Overwaitea Foods and after retirement at Ricks Fine Meats. After many years spent in Cranbrook and throughout BC, Mario and Mary Anne moved to Victoria, BC to spend more time with their grandchildren and start a new adventure. He leaves behind many family and friends that will miss his infectious smile and kind heart. Mario was a great supporter of all kids sports notably minor hockey. He had a passion for fishing - especially the stories and could be found sharing a laugh with his mates. He perfected the art of vinting and always had a bottle on hand to offer his guests. We're all grateful for his green thumb, as we were the recipients of delicious tomatoes and all things that grow in soil. He loved to teach these crafts also, passing knowledge on to the next generations. His cheerful, friendly welcome will be missed by all lucky enough to share in his journey.
