Marjorie Glauser Obituary
GLAUSER, Marjorie Edith (nee Schauss)
March 29, 1924 - September 25, 2016
It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of Marjorie Glauser. She died peacefully at the Sidney Care Home in Sidney, British Columbia. Marjorie was born and raised in Saskatoon. She was the youngest of five children born to Henry and Anna Schauss and was predeceased by her four brothers, Wilfred, Ernie, Harry, and Carl. As a young woman she played baseball and loved to skate and also enjoyed speed skating. After the war, she married Calvin Glauser. They had four children, Ken, Carol, Calvin and Kurt. They lived an active life filled with family events and charity work with the Cosmopolitan Club. Marjorie devoted her life to her husband and children. She was a sweet and kind mother who was well known for her baking, it was the place to be after school. Her children and their friends have fond memories of her homemade donuts, cinnamon buns and pies which were always waiting for them when they came home from school. Marjorie and Calvin moved to Victoria for their retirement years where they enjoyed the gentler climate. She continued to enjoy watching sports, music, reading and in particular Hardanger embroidery. Her embroidery pieces are now cherished pieces in the homes of her children and relatives for special occasions. She was married to Calvin for 60 years until his passing in 2007. She will be dearly missed by her children Ken (Carolyn), Carol (late Doug), Calvin, Kurt (Anna); her grandchildren Stacey, Sara, Jesse, Shane, Arthur, Natalia, Ivan, Stephanie, and Paul; her great grandchildren Autumn, Echo, River, Henry, and Anna. Marjorie was an exceptionally peaceful and gentle person. She never said an unkind word and was always calm and accepting no matter the circumstances. A memorial service will be held in Victoria. Family and friends will be advised of the date and time and are invited to attend.
