I was just about to set another coaching session with Mark, when I was shocked to find he was gone. I spent many a golfing session with Mark on the mat in his backyard discussing golf, gardens and the world in general. I thought I would see him on the Champions Tour. I will miss him so much and my sincere condolences to his family whom he spoke of with great humour and pride.

I knew Mark from when he was just starting golf at Uplands Golf Club. We hooked up to play lots and he was much like Doug Peden to play with.A real nice walk in the park with. Then years later when I was in my late 30's he gave me instructions and after 3 lessons and 500 balls later I was driving the ball over 300 yards.Mark was an excellent teacher and we spent times in talking and he was a great listener and solver of a few problems I had.Knowing Mark I can say, with his mind ,that he said many special things to his children that most dads don't say. Please remember what he told you and his examples to you. Respect his mind as he loved you all and go forward in your lives for him. Really miss you Mark.

I worked with Dana over the years in dental offices in Victoria. She spoke often of Mark and their children and how proud she was of all of them. And while I never actually met Mark, I had a wonderful opportunity (along with many other terrific worker-bees) to experience his incredible garden and help get it ready for the upcoming winter. Besides a truly impressive collection of plastic greenhouse pots, I could see the creativity, care and love in which he shaped and tended his garden and home. The outstanding display of huge, yellow sunflowers stood out majestically as we completed our tasks; their bright bold image will likely always invoke precious memories for Karlee, Justin, Marty and Dana. My thoughts are with all of you.

Mark and I attended Frank Hobbs together. Reconnecting at my work, Sound Hounds. We always had interesting conversations about our school pals to his work back stage, and the performers, (were they good people?), and about how proud he was of his children. Mark was a good guy, and I too will miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with ALL of his family.
