OMNESS, Mark Joseph September 19, 1964 - October 22, 2018 It is with great sadness that the family of Mark Joseph Omness announce his passing on Monday October 22 at Victoria Hospice, after a long battle with cancer. Mark was born in Kindersley, Saskatchewan on September 19, 1964. The family moved to Maidstone, Saskatchewan the spring of 1979. He moved to Edmonton approximately three years later where he was initiated into the Boilermakers Union on April 27, 1982. He was a proud member for 35 years, living and working in a variety of places. Mark was ending his career, working as a rigger for DND at Esquimalt, when he became ill in the spring of 2017. Mark is survived by eight brothers and sisters with extended family members. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Gerry and Jeanne Omness, sisters Geraldine and Paula, and brother, David. He will be sadly missed by his family and his loving and devoted friend, Grace. Following cremation, a funeral service will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Church (798 Goldstream Ave, Victoria) at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 31st. Family flowers only. Donations to Victoria Hospice gratefully received. Interment will be in Kindersley spring of 2019.
