Mary LOUKES

LOUKES Mary Irene 'Nicki' (Nicholson), born March 7, 1937, in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba; passed away peacefully on May 30, 2002, with her family at her side. She was a much-loved wife, mother, nan, sister and friend. Nicki was a registerednurse who took pride in her profession and will be remembered for her dedication to helping others. She brought out the best in everyone with her generosity and kind heart. Nicki greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, gardening, listening to the birds sing, and walking to the ocean. She will be greatly missed by her husband John 'Barry', six children, six grandchildren, siblings and friends. A private family service was held at Royal Oak Cemetery on June 4. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Victoria Hospice Society. The Loukes family would like to thank the staff of the Victoria Hospice and the Community Health nurses who showed great kindness and support for Nicki during her illness.
