I just heard about Matt and I'm so sorry for your loss. We went to Oak Bay together and I was just thinking about him recently. He was a very kind person and I wish I was able to get to know him better. It makes me smile to know he loved glitter and bling! I'll wear some in his memory :)

I had the pleasure of playing hockey with Matt and he was just a really good guy. He was a great teammate and an even better person. Very down to earth and humble along with a very quick wit and a hilarious dry sense of humour. Always positive even during the tough times Matt always kept the dressing room loose. He was a very good leader in a quiet nonchalant way. He could always make me crack up with his stories and one liners. He was a very talented defenceman who made it look effortless with his skating and booming slap shot. He always reminded me of Al Mcinnis and was even the only guy I knew who still used a wooden stick. Very sad he will be missed. Condolences to his family and friends.
